5 Quotes that will Inspire Personal Growth

Who do you think you are? vs. Who do you want to be?

Which question intrigues you more? There is no right or wrong answer but it is one of the best ways to kick off a new year or new cycle of a personal journey. A contemplative look back helps you evaluate what you have achieved. A goal for the future provides you a path forward.

Define what you want but then let go of how it will come to you.

We often get inspired to start keeping a journal because we have acknowledged a certain amount of discontent in our lives. We want to remind ourselves to first be grateful and not greedy. Wanting more is not a crime. Being ambitious is not a sin. Writing out aspirations is a wonderful practice. The key is to remain open to how your goals manifest themselves.

Be protective of your time. It is a precious gift that you should value the most.

Everyone at one point or another wishes they had more hours in the day but the reality is we are forever stuck with 24 hours. Simplify your life and identify the #1 highest priority for the day. If you narrow your focus to the absolute highest priority item on your infinite list, everything else will fall into place. When you go to sleep that night, use that time to identify tomorrow’s top priority.

It is not about outdoing the other person. It is about outdoing yourself.

‘Keeping up with the Joneses’ is a destructive path. In life, just focus on becoming the best version of yourself. Use the lessons of yesterday to make better choices today. Success and influence will organically gravitate to you.

Give yourself permission to follow your instincts.

Whether you write in a journal everyday or just on occasion, you will find yourself making observations on decisions you made. Make a habit of going back to older journal postings. Hindsight is 20/20. See if your instincts led you down the right path. It will help guide you on decisions in the future

The time honored practice of journaling helps many achieve personal growth. Take a moment to check out our journals here on Holland Hills Press.com
